Scheduling & the field

Calendar

A month-at-a-glance view of your scheduled jobs and due follow-ups. Drag a job to another day to reschedule it in one move.

What it does

The Calendar lays out a full month as a grid. Each day shows the jobs scheduled for that day and any client follow-ups that are due. You can flip between months, jump back to today, filter by who's assigned, drag a job onto a different day to reschedule it, and click through to a client's page.

Where to find it

In the top menu, open Schedule ▾ and choose Calendar.

Direct link: /dashboard/calendar

The page heading reads Calendar, with the reminder "Scheduled jobs and due follow-ups. Drag a job to another day to reschedule it."

Step by step

Read the month grid

  1. The grid starts each week on Monday (columns Mon–Sun).
  2. Each day cell shows up to three items. If there are more, you'll see a "+N more" note at the bottom of that day.
  3. Today is highlighted — its date sits in a filled circle and the day cell has a ring around it.
  4. Days from the previous/next month appear faded so you can see the week boundaries.

Tell jobs and follow-ups apart

Each item is a small coloured chip:

  • Jobs have a briefcase icon and show the service and client name, with the price on the right. The icon colour reflects the job's status (scheduled / completed / cancelled).
  • Follow-ups have a bell icon and show the client's name. A regular (recurring) client's follow-up carries a small Re-book tag with a refresh icon.
  • If the client belongs to a round, their chip has a coloured left edge in the round's colour — hover to see the round name.
  • Scheduled jobs also show their estimated arrival time (worked out from that day's route) at the start of the chip. Plan the order on the Route planner.

Move between months

  • Click the (left arrow) button to go to the previous month.
  • Click the (right arrow) button for the next month.
  • Click Today to jump straight back to the current month.

The arrows briefly show a spinner while the new month loads. Your assignee filter is kept as you move between months.

Filter by assignee

  1. Click the assignee dropdown (top right, defaults to All assignees).
  2. Choose All assignees, Assigned to me, Unassigned, or a specific team member.
  3. The grid refreshes to show only matching jobs (and follow-ups). The choice sticks as you change months.

Drag a job to reschedule it

  1. Point at a job chip (the ones with a briefcase icon). The cursor becomes a "grab" hand. A tooltip reminds you: "drag to reschedule".
  2. Press and hold, then drag the chip onto a different day cell. The target day highlights as you hover over it.
  3. Drop it. The job jumps to the new day immediately and you'll see a confirmation like "Rescheduled to 14 Jun".

If the change can't be saved, the job snaps back to its original day and an error message explains why. Only jobs can be dragged — follow-up (bell) chips can't be rescheduled this way.

Open a client from the calendar

Click any chip — job or follow-up — to go straight to that client's page, where you can see their full history, edit the job, raise an invoice and so on.

What each screen shows

  • Month title (e.g. "June 2026") — the month you're viewing.
  • Assignee dropdown — the current people filter.
  • ‹ / Today / › — month navigation.
  • Weekday headers — Mon to Sun.
  • Day cells — date number plus up to three chips and a "+N more" overflow note.
  • If nothing is scheduled, you'll see "No scheduled jobs or follow-ups this month."

Tips & good to know

  • A day can hold more than three items — open the Jobs list or a client's page to see everything for a busy day.
  • The price on each job chip is handy for sizing up a day's takings at a glance.
  • Rescheduling here changes the job's Scheduled date — the same field you'd edit on the Jobs list.
  • On a narrow screen the grid scrolls sideways; on a phone, the My round view is usually the easier daily tool.

Troubleshooting

  • A drag didn't stick / job snapped back — the save failed (e.g. connection dropped). Try again; the on-screen message tells you what went wrong.
  • Can't drag a chip — only job chips (briefcase) are draggable. Follow-up chips (bell) are not.
  • A job isn't showing — check the assignee filter; switch it back to All assignees. Also confirm the job's scheduled date is in the month you're viewing.
  • Lost track of the month — click Today to return to the current month.
