Getting Started

Your first five minutes in Quickie: signing in (no password needed), finding your way around, and ticking off the quick-start checklist.

What it does

Quickie is a simple CRM for window, gutter and pressure-washing businesses. There are no passwords to remember — you sign in with a one-click "magic link" sent to your email. Once you're in, a friendly checklist walks you through setting up your CRM, and the header at the top of every page is your map to everything else.

Where to find it

  • Sign in page: /auth/sign-in
  • After signing in you land on the Dashboard (/dashboard).

Step by step

Sign in for the first time

  1. Open the sign-in page (/auth/sign-in). You'll see a card headed Sign in.
  2. In Your name, type your name (for example, Jane Cleaner).
  3. In Email, type the email address you want to use for the business.
  4. Click Email me a magic link.
  5. The card changes to say "We've emailed you a magic link. Check your email for the magic link." Go to your inbox and open the email titled "Sign in to Quickie".
  6. Click the link in that email. It signs you in automatically and drops you on your Dashboard — no password required.
Typed the wrong email? Click Use a different email to go back to the form.

Sign in again later

You stay signed in on your device, so you usually won't need to do anything. If you ever get sent back to the sign-in page, just repeat the steps above — enter your name and email and click the new magic link.

Work through the "Get started" checklist

When your CRM is new, the Dashboard shows a Get started with Quickie card at the top. It lists six quick steps and shows progress like "2 of 6 done", with a progress bar.

  1. Each step you haven't done yet shows a short description and a button on the right.
  2. Click the button to jump straight to where you do that step. The steps are:
  • Add your first contactAdd contact
  • Log an interactionOpen a contact
  • Create a quoteOpen a contact
  • Complete a jobAdd a job
  • Send an invoiceGo to invoices
  • Record a paymentGo to invoices
  1. As soon as you do a step, it ticks off automatically (it goes green with a strike-through). The checklist reads your real data — there's nothing to mark "done" by hand.
  2. When all six are done, the card disappears on its own.
  3. Want it gone sooner? Click the small X (Dismiss checklist) in the top-right of the card. It won't come back.

Switch between light and dark

  1. In the header, find the sun/moon icon (the theme toggle), to the right of the notification bell.
  2. Click it to switch between light and dark. Your choice is remembered.

Sign out

  1. Click your initials in a circle at the far right of the header (the avatar menu).
  2. Choose Sign out. You'll see a "Signed out" message and be returned to the sign-in page.

What each screen shows

The header (top of every page)

  • Quickie — the logo on the left; click it any time to go back to the Dashboard.
  • Dashboard — your home screen with goals, charts and reminders.
  • Clients ▾ — a dropdown: Contacts (everyone you've talked to), Pipeline (move leads to clients), Follow-ups (who to chase, and when).
  • Schedule ▾ — a dropdown: My round (today's jobs on the go), Calendar (jobs & follow-ups by day), Jobs (booked & completed cleans), Tasks (your to-do list).
  • Money ▾ — a dropdown: Invoices (bill clients & track payments) and, for owners only, Reports (revenue & insights).
  • Search… button — opens the command palette (or press ⌘K / Ctrl-K).
  • Notification bell — your alerts.
  • Theme toggle — light/dark.
  • Avatar (your initials) — opens a menu with Settings, Audit log (owners only) and Sign out.

The Get started card

A progress bar, the "X of Y done" count, and the list of steps. Done steps are struck through; unfinished steps show a description and a quick-action button.

Tips & good to know

  • No passwords, ever. Every sign-in is a fresh magic link by email. Keep access to that inbox.
  • The magic link signs in the device you click it on, so click it on the phone or computer you want to use.
  • On mobile, the menu collapses into a hamburger (☰) button on the left — tap it to see Dashboard, Clients, Schedule and Money grouped together.
  • Reports and the Audit log are owner-only — if you don't see them, your account isn't an owner.
  • The active section is highlighted in the header so you always know where you are.

Troubleshooting

  • The magic-link email hasn't arrived. Check spam/junk, and confirm you typed your email correctly (use Use a different email to retry). The email is titled "Sign in to Quickie".
  • I keep getting asked to sign in. Your session can drop (for example after the app is updated). It's harmless — request a fresh magic link and carry on.
  • The "Get started" card vanished. That's expected once all six steps are done, or if you clicked the X to dismiss it.
  • I can't see Reports or Audit log. Those are owner-only. Ask whoever owns the account to change your role if you need access.
